How can I stop my cat from snoring?
Question by tilly: How can I stop my cat from snoring?
He seems to have something in his nose, it whistles when he breathes – usually when he’s content. And when he’s asleep, he snores. Are there any home remedies that MIGHT help him before I fork out for the vet fees?

Hehehe Its probably nothing. My Pixie Girl snores like a bandsaw sometimes. Is his neck twisted around when he does this? Sometimes its just the position of their head/neck and how deeply they are asleep. I forked over money to have Pixie checked and there was nothing wrong with her. I did add a humidifier to our home and seems to ease her some but when shes zonked shes sawing wood louder than my husband does.

Maybe others will disagree with me but it doesn’t really sound like you have anything to be worried about. Is there anything else in the cat’s behaviour/demeanour that are cause for concern? You mention the whistling when he breathes…he might have a bit of a “cold”. As for the snoring, my cats snore a lot but they are very healthy and so it’s just cute!

If it has a flat face like a persian it will snore.
If it’s fat it will snore also.
