What are those anti-snoring pressure masks called?
Question by Chaco-Yekke Downyonder: What are those anti-snoring pressure masks called?
Isn’t it something like “CPEP” or C-pep? I would like to check them out and need the exact spelling.
Thanks.

It is called a CPAP or Bi-PAP machine.
They come with either full faced masks or nose only mask.
However, I used one before for a period of time and it causes bloatedness, stomach gas, farting and it can be pretty troublesome to carry around… esp if you travel quite a bit.
Most of the time, it causes a dry throat unless you get the one with a humidifier. If you sleep with your mouth open, you’ll notice that you can’t breathe well when you sleep anyway, due to the pressured air into your lungs.
However, if you want to try it out, do check out ebay as prices can vary hugely.

The one I use is a C-PAP from Respironics. I have a full face mask with a humidifier built in. Occasionally I get a dry mouth, but for the most part I wake up in the morning and the water reservoir still has water in it.
It is a pain to have to take it when you travel and if I’m just going away for one night I usually leave it at home. However it does fit all into a travel case. You are supposed to use filtered, pure water in the reservoir only, however, I largely use only tap water. It has caused some mineral build-up in the reservoir, but nothing that doesn’t clean up with some anti-mineral solution and a little scrubbing.
I’ve never had any bloating or gas from using the machine and I’ve had it for just over a year.
My buddy uses one as well, but his just covers his nose. It is not as effective as the nose & face mask. His often comes off at night and doesn’t seem to do much to stop his snoring as I have spent many nights in hotel rooms with him on ski trips only to be awoke by his snoring at 3am.

They’re called CPAP masks. Also Bi-Pap masks are used to stop sleep apnea, which can lead tosnoring.
