Why do some people ask anti-Japan questions on here at silly times?
Question by Robyn: Why do some people ask anti-Japan questions on here at silly times?
They ask them at a time which is late at night Japanese time, then give out best answer in the early hours of the morning. Obviously they’re probably not in Japan, that’s not what I’m asking. I’m wondering how they’ve got the nerve to ask questions which are often racist against Japan, in the tourism Japan category, at times when most people in Japan are unlikely to be able to answer because it’s so late. And then, deliberately giving out best answer to a suitably anti-Japanese answerer when people in Japan are still snoring and unable to make valid comments.
It’s rather blatant in it’s nasty spitefulness, but why bother? What pleasure can they get when most interested people will never even know the question was asked?
Here’s an example, although I’ve seen this before. Judging by the hours ago that the question was asked, it was asked around 11 p.m. Japanese time. Not so bad. But then the best answer was given about 3 a.m. Not to mention that the title of the question is totally misleading as the Ady Gil didn’t actually sink. They’re even talking about possibly repairing it.

Do they think anyone will care? Most people will never know the question was even asked, and those that do will do little more than wonder what sort of loser asked such a stupid question.
I’d like to make it clear for the first 3 answerers that the example given is just the most recent example that I’ve happened across by coincidence. It may be focused on whalers who happen to be Japanese, but there have been others which have been focused on various other things about Japanese lifestyle, including alleged incestuous habits and other nonsense. Still, why wouldn’t the person asking the question want comments from pro-whalers who happen to be Japanese? The question was asked in the Japan section after all, not any other section involving animal protection. Just seems odd to me, that’s all.

like someone else said, that’s a question which is anti-whaling(which the unfortunate fact is that Japanese do a LOT of this more than others)
They aren’t against Japanese. They are against Japanese whalers.
I’m American, and I’m against American companies that sell meat with growth hormones in it. does that make me anti-American? no. not at all.

Being against certain elements of a society doesn’t mean you dislike the people. It is people like you with a chip on their shoulder that will do the most damage towards the reputation of Japan, not them.

With this question, I think they just wanted to ask a question that is touchy to Japanese people, without having so many Japanese get involved with answering. Maybe they wanted an anti-whaling answer, so that explains the time.

They’re probably some of the same people running around giving thumbs-down to perfectly fine questions in the category. Look, racism is silly (to put it mildly), and of course people pick best answers that suit whatever they’re looking for, whether it’s an actual answer to a serious question or just something that confirms what they already know or think. Some people get thrills from being jerks.

Those anti-Japan questions, based on their ignorance, laziness and malicious preoccupations, are not worth a serious answer. So, we don’t need to be aware of them posted and resolved while we are snoring. Let them do that. They will not learn anything from YA or from the world anyway.
